Weston is receiving $1.5 million in federal funding for sewer improvements intended to support a future expansion along Corridor H, according to an Oct. 7 report by WDTV 5 News.
U.S. Rep. Riley Moore discussed the funding at the Weston Municipal Building. He said he secured the money through community project funding as a member of the House Appropriations Committee.
The money will help the city upgrade its sewer system and increase the capacity needed to eventually extend service along the corridor, WDTV reported.
Moore said a lack of sewer infrastructure between Weston and Buckhannon has cost the area development projects along Route 33. He said expanding water and sewer access could help attract businesses and jobs.
