Lewis County Commissioner Agnes Quinn Queen took part in a State Capitol discussion with the West Virginia Emergency Management Division about strengthening disaster response and recovery, according to a November 5 Facebook post by participant Kristie Tenney.

Tenney said the discussion focused on the West Virginia Disaster Recovery Framework. Participants shared their experiences from flooding and discussed ways to improve response and recovery across the state.

Along with Queen, Tenney named Director Blackwood, Ginger Smith, CCAWV Director Susan Martino and Caroline Fulks with Region VII Planning and Development Council. She also identified FEMA, WV VOAD and the Office of West Virginia Agriculture Commissioner Kent Leonhardt among the participating agencies and organizations.

The account describes a discussion among local, state and partner organizations; it does not announce an adopted policy, new funding or a change in disaster assistance.
