Lewis County voters now have the key dates they need to prepare for the November 2026 election, including deadlines for registration, early voting and absentee ballots.
County Clerk Becky Carder told the Weston Democrat that residents must register to vote or update their party affiliation by Tuesday, October 13. Those services are available at the Voter Registration Office on the first floor of the Lewis County Courthouse.
Early-voting schedule
In-person early voting runs October 21 through October 31 at the same office. Weekday hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The office will also open on Saturday, October 24, and Saturday, October 31, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Residents seeking an absentee ballot by mail must submit an application by October 28. The following day, October 29, is the last day the office may mail an absentee ballot to a voter.
Questions about eligibility, applications or voting arrangements should go directly to the Lewis County Voter Registration Office at 304-269-8215.
