September 12: infant supplies available

Walmart Weston says formula, diapers and infant clothing are now available, expanding the merchandise accessible during the store's phased recovery from July flood damage. The September 12 operator notice was shared publicly by Lewis County Commissioner Agnes Quinn Queen.

The announcement confirms those three infant-supply categories; it does not say that every baby product is stocked or that all store departments have reopened. Inventory can change, so customers making a special trip should check the Weston store page or call 304-269-1549. The September 12 Facebook share preserves Walmart Weston's update.

September 8: personal-care shopping expands

Weston Walmart says its health-and-beauty section reopened Tuesday, September 8, adding access to toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo, razors and similar products. The store’s public announcement is a further step in its phased reopening after July’s flood damage.

It is not an announcement that the entire store has returned to normal. The new notice provides no reopening dates for refrigerated or frozen foods, the fuel station, online pickup or delivery. In public replies to shoppers asking about food and the service station, Walmart directed questions to store associates at 304-269-1549, without supplying dates.

Read the official store update. The August 31 information below is retained as the earlier reopening baseline, not a fresh verification of every department’s September 8 status.

August 31 reopening background

Weston Walmart reopened to customers Monday, August 31, after 42 days of flood repairs. The official page for Supercenter #1653 showed the Berlin Road store operating Monday, and WDTV later confirmed that shoppers had returned inside.

The store is open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. during the first phase. The in-store pharmacy has resumed service after the temporary outdoor pharmacy closed Sunday for the move. Walmart lists the main store telephone as 304-269-1549 and the pharmacy telephone as 304-269-2443.

Selection remains limited. Store Manager Randy Merrifield told WDTV that customers can currently use the pharmacy and shop for dry groceries, pet products, paper goods, and essential household and cleaning supplies. Earlier notices also identified some apparel and textile items as part of the first phase.

At the August 31 reopening, refrigerated and frozen foods were not yet available. Merrifield said additional general merchandise and refrigerated goods are expected to return in phases over the coming months, but he did not provide a firm date for full operations. Online ordering, pickup, delivery and the fuel station were also identified in earlier local notices as services that would return later.

Walmart also contributed $500,000 toward disaster relief and worked with nonprofit groups following the July flood, according to WDTV. Merrifield said Weston employees were offered work at neighboring stores while their location was closed.

Customers making a special or time-sensitive trip should check the official Weston store page or call the relevant department because availability will continue changing during repairs. WDTV's August 31 report includes the store manager's operating update.
