The flood relief distribution center at Market Place Mall in Weston will stop taking walk-ins after Oct. 2 and operate by appointment, according to an update from the Lewis County Family Resource Network dated Sept. 20.
Until then, the center at 284 Market Place Mall, in the old Kroger building to the right of Dollar Tree, lists hours of Wednesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with appointments also available. The Network says FEMA staff will be at the location each Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until further notice to help with intake registrations, check registration status and answer questions. This is an additional FEMA location; the Network says FEMA’s primary Disaster Recovery Center remains separate.
The Network says the center’s public-access areas include basic-needs supplies available to anyone who walks in, while some larger supplies are reserved for people affected by the flood who have applied to FEMA. It says applicants can provide their FEMA application number when checking in; having a number does not mean an application has been approved.
