The City of Weston listed two local places where residents could get help with FEMA applications and questions ahead of the October 3 deadline in its notice.

Elizabeth Street recovery center

The Disaster Recovery Center is listed at 37 Elizabeth Street in Weston, next to Dollar General and behind Wendy’s. The city gave hours of Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Market Place assistance

The additional location is the Market Place Flood Relief Distribution Center at 284 Market Place Mall, Weston, WV 26452, in the old Kroger building to the right of Dollar Tree.

The notice says FEMA staff there can take registrations, check application status and answer questions. It lists Wednesday-through-Friday hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The notice contains two different descriptions of how long that service would last: one says “until further notice,” while a separate hours line says “through October 2.” The post does not confirm service after October 2, so residents should check before visiting.

Application deadline

The city lists the deadline as “10/3” without a time or year. The original post date was unavailable. These are the details in the city’s notice, and they do not determine whether an individual qualifies for aid.
