With November days growing shorter, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers staff at Stonewall Jackson Lake reminded boaters to prepare for earlier darkness before heading out.
In a November 1 Facebook post, lake officials advised boaters to check the weather, make sure their navigation lights work and wear a life jacket. They also urged boaters to tell someone where they are going and when they expect to return.
