The U.S. Small Business Administration announced the Lewis County Business Recovery Center in an Aug. 7, 2026 release. The Lewis County WV Economic Development Authority shared the notice locally in a Facebook post.

The Business Recovery Center is at Mountaineer Specialty, LLC, 387 US Highway 33 East, between Giovanni’s and KFC. Its posted hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Walk-ins are welcome; in-person appointments can be scheduled at appointment.sba.gov. Representatives can answer questions and help with the application process.

Businesses and nonprofits may apply for up to $2 million in physical disaster loans to repair or replace damaged or destroyed property and business assets. Economic Injury Disaster Loans are available for working capital needs to eligible small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives and private nonprofits, including faith-based organizations, even if they had no physical damage. SBA says it cannot provide disaster loans to agricultural producers, farmers or ranchers, except aquaculture enterprises.

Homeowners and renters may apply for up to $100,000 to repair or replace personal property. Homeowners may also apply for up to $500,000 to repair or replace a primary residence. The SBA release lists interest rates as low as 4% for small businesses, 3.625% for nonprofits and 2.875% for homeowners and renters, with terms of up to 30 years. Interest does not begin to accrue, and payments are not due, until 12 months after the first loan disbursement. SBA determines eligibility, loan amounts and terms based on each applicant’s financial condition.

The release lists Oct. 3 as the deadline for physical damage applications and May 3, 2027, for economic injury applications. Applications can be submitted at sba.gov/disaster.
