Rock Cave IGA will close permanently under the Hawkins family’s ownership after nearly four decades. The family said the physical, financial, and emotional burden of operating the grocery store had become too great, with family health concerns also contributing to the decision.

The property and business are for sale. The owners said they hope a buyer will recognize the community’s need for a grocery store and continue operating the location. Glen and Jo Ann Hawkins purchased the store, then known as B&B Mart, in 1989; their sons Wes and Dale took over operations in 2019.
