Customers and people planning to donate to My Thrifty Mama should hold off on visits and porch drop-offs. In a September 8 update, the Weston business said its temporary closure will continue and specifically asked residents not to leave items outside the shop.
The business’s public page lists its location as 916 US-33 East in Weston. The new closure notice is the relevant guidance for visitors; an older featured post advertising normal shopping hours should not be taken to mean the store has reopened.
Hollie Vaughn, who signed the update, said considerable work remains at My Thrifty Mama after the community’s flooding. She also said her attention is needed at The Coffeehouse Flood Relief Distribution Center, where she has been helping people obtain needed items and seeing some of the store’s regular customers.
Vaughn described the shutdown as temporary and said she would like to reopen in January. That was an unofficial goal, not a confirmed opening date. The notice supplies no particular day or finalized reopening schedule, so customers should wait for a subsequent announcement before making plans.
For now, the practical instruction is clear: do not leave donations or other items on the porch. The post does not authorize a different drop-off location or provide current distribution-center hours. Residents should obtain current acceptance instructions from the organization they intend to donate to instead of leaving goods unattended.
Read the original business update and check My Thrifty Mama’s public page for a confirmed reopening announcement.
