LUV 4 Animals appealed for adopters and rescue partners Nov. 3, saying Lewis-Upshur Animal Control in Buckhannon was at capacity with more dogs expected to arrive.

The group highlighted six dogs waiting for homes and offered to help people connect with the shelter.

Dogs featured in the appeal

LUV 4 Animals described Jethro as an easygoing dog who enjoys walks and relaxing, and Sixty as an affectionate dog weighing about 50 pounds.

Dobby, whom the group described as a long-waiting shelter dog, enjoys people, other dogs, walks and playtime outside his kennel, according to the post.

Blake is 7 months old. The group said he did well with a Rent-A-Pet family’s child, dog and cats, and that half his adoption fee was sponsored.

Loki is a year old and weighs 12 pounds. The group said he was doing well with shelter staff. Count Chocola is 6 months old and was described as friendly and fond of attention and treats.

How to ask about adoption

The group said meet-and-greets could be arranged, including after-hours visits by appointment. Some dogs were available for Rent-A-Pet, and foster-to-adopt might be an option. Rescue partners were also invited to get in touch.

Call Lewis-Upshur Animal Control at 304-472-3865 or message LUV 4 Animals for help connecting with the shelter. Ask about current availability and adoption arrangements.
