The Market Place Mall flood relief distribution center in Weston will stop accepting walk-ins after Oct. 2 and switch to appointment-only access, according to updated information from the Lewis County Family Resource Network.

Through Oct. 2, the center at 284 Market Place Mall is open Wednesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is in the old Kroger building, to the right of Dollar Tree. After Oct. 2, it will be open by appointment to recovery groups working in the area and community members.

FEMA staff are scheduled to be at the center each Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until further notice to help with intake registrations, check registration status and answer questions. The post says this is an additional FEMA location alongside the primary Disaster Recovery Center.

The distribution center has supplies available to anyone who walks in, including basic needs items, food, hygiene products and cleaning supplies. Other supplies are reserved for people affected by the flood who have applied to FEMA; visitors seeking those items are asked to provide their FEMA application number. The post says having an application number does not mean an applicant has been approved.

People seeking flood-related help can submit the “I Need Help” form or leave a message at 304-886-5782. The Family Resource Network says that number and form are not for crises or emergencies; call 911 for immediate help.

The Family Resource Network’s full update also lists current donation needs and other recovery information.
