The Market Place Mall Flood Relief Distribution Center in Weston will end walk-in service after Oct. 2 and operate by appointment, the Lewis County Family Resource Network said in an update dated Sept. 20. The change affects community members seeking flood recovery supplies and support.

Until Oct. 2, the center at 284 Market Place Mall is open Wednesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and by appointment. After Oct. 2, it will be open by appointment only to recovery groups working in the area and community members.

FEMA will continue its onsite pop-up service at the location each Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until further notice. FEMA staff can assist with intake registrations, check registration status and answer questions. The post says the pop-up is in addition to FEMA’s primary Disaster Recovery Center but does not give that center’s location.

The Family Resource Network also said walk-in supplies are divided between basic-needs items available to anyone and larger supplies reserved for people affected by flooding who have applied for FEMA assistance. Shoppers seeking the latter are asked to provide their FEMA application number; the post says having a number does not mean an application has been approved.
