For Robert L. Bland Middle School families, WVU Jackson's Mill is an emergency classroom site—but it is not an unfamiliar or anonymous place.
An August 15 community reflection described the campus through a Lewis County resident's memories and emphasized its longstanding role in local life. That history cannot remove the inconvenience of a delayed start, longer bus rides or a damaged school, but it gives families a more grounded way to understand the temporary move.
The perspective complements the operational reporting: roughly 400 students were being prepared to begin at Jackson's Mill on September 8 under a one-year agreement.
