Fish Hawk Acres will take a four-day break Friday, Oct. 30, through Monday, Nov. 2, Dale Hawkins announced in an Oct. 29 Facebook post in The WWN community group.
Hawkins described the closure as the restaurant’s first four-day mental health weekend, giving staff and himself time to rest away from the demands of hospitality work.
He said plans for 2027 include two full weeks of restaurant closures and four additional four-day weekends. After putting those breaks on the calendar, he said, they decided to begin taking time off this year. The post did not list the 2027 closure dates.
“Because ‘we appreciate our staff’ ought to mean something when we’re making the schedule,” Hawkins wrote.
