Weston Walmart began a second phase of its reopening Friday, Sept. 25, following flood damage in July, according to a report by Noah Jeffries of WV News and the Weston Democrat. The earlier reopening notice said the wider merchandise areas were expected to open that day; the new report confirms the phase has begun.
Store manager Randy Merrifield told the newspaper that most merchandise is now available. The report lists departments and goods including fashion, home, hardware, entertainment, sporting goods, seasonal items, food, pet supplies and infant items. It does not separately establish whether refrigerated or frozen groceries are available, so their status remains unclear from this report.
Work is continuing on the store’s refrigeration, with installation expected in the coming months. The gas station is expected to reopen “soon,” but no date was provided. The report gives no target date for full restoration of the store.
