Brittney Barlett is asking volunteers to help distribute disaster assistance information through Lewis County churches, sports games and family gatherings.

In an Oct. 10 Facebook post shared by Lewis County Mutual Aid - WV, Barlett arranged flier pickup for Sunday, Oct. 11, from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. in front of the FRN, at the CVS parking lot at 240 Court Ave. in Weston.

Volunteers can message Barlett or text 419-306-5488 with their church’s name and the number of fliers they want. She asked people to coordinate so several volunteers from the same church do not duplicate the effort. She also encouraged people to print their own fliers and organize distribution elsewhere in the community.

LC RISE meeting

An accompanying flier lists the next LC RISE meeting for Wednesday, Oct. 14, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the second-floor meeting room at the Lewis County Courthouse. The group describes its work as bringing organizations and individuals together to support Lewis County residents through long-term disaster recovery. The flier gives 304-886-5782 as a number to call or text.
