The Y Country Store in Walkersville will hold an all-day Labor Day weekend gathering Saturday, September 5, combining a porch sale, family activities, food and evening bluegrass.
The event runs from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 20165 U.S. Highway 19 South. A front-porch yard sale is scheduled from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Mack's Garage is scheduled to begin playing bluegrass at 5 p.m. The organizer also lists ring toss for children, candy and cookies, making the evening portion suitable for families.
Food planned for the day includes chili dogs, pizza and homemade pies. The store has also announced merchandise and food promotions, but residents can attend for the public activities without treating the day as a shopping trip.
The announcement does not list a separate admission charge. Anyone who needs accessibility information, wants to confirm that weather has not changed the outdoor schedule or has questions about the yard sale should call the store at 304-452-9444.
The gathering is one of several smaller community activities surrounding the county's larger Labor Day weekend festivals. Drivers should allow extra time for holiday traffic on U.S. 19.
See The Y Country Store's original event announcement for any last-minute changes.
