Nearly 90 vendor booths filled the front lawn of the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum in Weston for a family festival Saturday, Oct. 3, according to WDTV 5 News.

The festival featured food trucks, a kids zone, karaoke and a costume contest. Vendors sold oddities, handcrafted goods, baked treats and 3D-printed creations.

Michelle Graham, the asylum’s filming and event manager, told WDTV that welcoming neighbors to the grounds helps connect the historic landmark with the community.

“This is our favorite thing to do is when we can invite the community of Weston back to the lawn of the Asylum,” Graham said.

The festival took place during the asylum’s Asylum After Dark season, which includes flashlight tours, a haunted house, and historic and paranormal tours. The asylum is also preparing for a Halloween costume contest Oct. 17 during its annual Asylum Ball. WDTV’s report did not give a time for the ball and directed readers to talawv.com for more information.
