Sunny Pointe will host a special screening of “The Asylum” on Friday, October 16, with a guest appearance by Kevin Sorbo, according to an October 9 announcement from the Lewis County Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The film was shot in Lewis County at the historic TALA/Weston State Hospital. Gates open at 6 p.m., and the movie begins at 7:15 p.m.

Tickets and weather plans

Tickets are $15 per person through HoldMyTicket. The announcement advertised 75 presale tickets with admission guaranteed rain or shine for the first 75 ticket holders. We could not confirm how many tickets remain available.

If weather permits an outdoor screening, additional tickets will be offered closer to the event, the bureau said.

Supporting flood relief

All profits from the event will benefit Lewis County FRN and its flood relief efforts, according to the announcement. Movie snacks, s’mores and drinks will be available for purchase before, during and after the screening.
