Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital received funding through the West Virginia Rural Health Transformation Program, according to a Facebook announcement by Agnes Quinn Queen. Queen said Gov. Patrick Morrisey visited Lewis County to award the funding.
She described the money as supporting healthcare innovation, workforce development and care coordination at Vandalia Health facilities.
Plans for clinical technology
According to the announcement, the funding will bring artificial intelligence-powered clinical listening technology to five hospitals: Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, Mon Health Marion Neighborhood Hospital, Preston Memorial Hospital, Plateau Medical Center and Webster Memorial Hospital. The stated goal is to reduce providers’ administrative work.
Queen’s post did not give a grant amount or a timetable for introducing the technology. She described the governor’s visit as happening “today,” but the post’s original date was unavailable, so the date of the visit remains unconfirmed.
