The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers operator for Stonewall Jackson Lake is reminding boaters that sun, wind, noise and vibration can contribute to “boater’s fatigue.” The operator’s September 18 message says that fatigue can impair reaction time as much as alcohol.

The post is a general water-safety reminder. It does not report a local crash or injury and does not provide a lake level, access change, closure or other current operating condition. Boaters should use the original operator message for the complete reminder and continue to follow responsible boating-safety guidance.

This is an official operator notice collected September 18, 2026. LC Portal did not reuse the attached graphic.
