Brody Skinner of Lewis County High School and Collen Darnall of Robert L. Bland Middle School set school records at the fourth annual Stonewall Jackson Invitational on Oct. 3 at WVU Jackson’s Mill, according to results posted by LCHS Minutemen Cross Country on Oct. 11.
Skinner finished fifth in the high school boys race in 16:35. Darnall placed 12th in the middle school boys race in 11:34. Both times were personal records as well as school records, the team reported.
Organizers said the home meet drew 288 runners, more than 500 spectators and more than 50 volunteers, making it the largest meet in school history. Moving the meet to Jackson’s Mill allowed the school to hold it on a Saturday. The team said 75% of runners achieved personal records.
