Lewis County residents will be able to pick up free naloxone and learn how to administer it at seven Weston locations during Save A Life Day on Thursday, September 24.
Naloxone, also known by the brand name Narcan, is used to reverse an opioid overdose. The county events will pair distribution with training, harm-reduction education and connections to recovery resources. Hours vary by site, with the first location opening at 8 a.m. and the final location closing at 6 p.m.
The Lewis County Family Resource Network's current schedule lists:
- Community Care of West Virginia, 133 Staunton Drive: 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
- Lewis County Health Department, 125 Court Avenue: 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
- Lewis County Family Resource Network, 240 Court Avenue: 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
