Roanoke Elementary School and Robert L. Bland Middle School returned to normal schedules after precautionary lockdowns related to a domestic situation in the community, Lewis County Schools announced October 13.
The district said the schools were placed on lockdown out of an abundance of caution and that the situation had been resolved. According to the district, students and staff were never in danger.
Lewis County Schools thanked the Lewis County 911 center and first responders for their quick response, professionalism and assistance.
