Robert L. Bland Middle School students were scheduled to begin classes September 8 at temporary classrooms on the WVU Jackson's Mill campus.

Before that start date, the district planned to assign review and introductory packets. Students would receive Chromebooks when they arrived at the temporary campus. An information session for families was scheduled for 6 p.m. August 26 in the Lewis County High School auditorium, where packets and answers to transportation and classroom questions would be available.

The delayed opening affected approximately 400 students. The rest of Lewis County Schools began August 20, while the district continued preparing bus routes and campus logistics for the middle-school move.
