Produce growers have four dated training opportunities listed in a graphic shared by the Lewis County Chamber of Commerce: three remote sessions and one in Bridgeport. The sessions cover produce safety, buyer expectations, food safety plans and certification topics.
Produce Safety Grower Training is listed as remote on Oct. 6, 2026, and March 2, 2027. The graphic says the $35 charge for remote training goes toward an AFDO certificate. It also lists an in-person session at the WV Small Farms Conference, but says its date and price are still to be determined.
Writing Your Farm Food Safety Plan is listed as remote on Nov. 17, 2026, and in person on March 30, 2027, at Holiday Inn Express & Suites, 20 Sweetbrier Lane, Bridgeport. The graphic lists $10 for that training toward manual materials. No session times appear in the captured notice.
The Chamber’s post directs prospective participants to a West Virginia Department of Agriculture registration link.
