Peterson Central directs late-afternoon pickups to cafeteria doors after 2:50 p.m.

The Weston elementary school asks families to avoid pickups from 2:30–3 p.m. when possible and use the parent pickup loop. Its September 8 reminder gives a specific entry point for necessary pickups after 2:50 p.m.

Families collecting children at Peterson Central Elementary School have an updated set of afternoon instructions from the school. The September 8 notice asks adults who must pick up a student after 2:50 p.m. to go directly to the cafeteria doors.

For families with flexibility, the school requests that pickups be arranged outside 2:30–3 p.m. and directs drivers to the parent pickup loop. The purpose is to reduce interruptions to instruction and help staff manage dismissal.

This is a request to avoid that half-hour window when possible, not an announcement that every pickup during it is prohibited. The cafeteria-door instruction specifically addresses necessary pickups after 2:50 p.m.; the notice does not provide a different entrance rule for an earlier pickup.

Peterson Central’s public page lists 509 Berlin Road, Weston, and 304-269-8330. Families with an unusual pickup arrangement or questions about where to report should contact the school before arriving. The announcement does not set a new dismissal time or describe changes to bus routes, student-release authorization or identification requirements.

Read the school’s original pickup notice. These are ongoing school procedures, not a one-day event.
