Lewis County nonprofits and eligible public agencies can seek support from the Pallottine Foundation of Buckhannon’s 2027 Healthy Communities Initiative. Applications close September 30, 2026.

The foundation offers up to $20,000 for health-related programs and projects that strengthen a nonprofit’s ability to operate. Its service region includes Lewis County. Applicants must meet the foundation’s eligibility requirements, including nonprofit tax-exempt status or qualification as a public entity, such as a library or health department. Organizations using a fiscal sponsor should contact the foundation before applying.

Preparing an application

Use the foundation’s online grant system; other submission formats are not accepted. The program page specifies 8 p.m. on the deadline date, but does not identify the timezone. Applicants should confirm that detail and submit early.

The foundation plans to announce awards December 7, with funded work running January 1–December 31, 2027. An application does not guarantee funding.

Program Officer Ashley Payne can discuss project fit at 304-397-5955 or [email protected]. The foundation also directs organizations seeking ongoing flood-relief support to contact her.

Review the current program guidance and application link before preparing a request.
