Lewis County Schools is planning a full dry run at WVU Jackson’s Mill before middle-school students begin classes there. High-school seniors will volunteer as mock sixth-, seventh-, and eighth-grade students so staff can test bus routes, arrival, movement through the site, and other daily operations.

The temporary move follows extensive July flood damage at Robert L. Bland Middle School. The tentative first day for middle-school students at Jackson’s Mill is September 8. District officials said the dry run is intended to identify practical problems before students arrive.
