The National Weather Service issued a Flood Warning for south-central Lewis County through 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20. The warning replaces the earlier Flash Flood Warning.

The NWS said flooding from excessive rainfall is imminent or occurring, with streams continuing to rise after 1.5 to 2.5 inches of rain. Centralia is among the locations listed in the warning.

The alert includes Route 19 between mile markers 47 and 61, 64 and 66, and near mile marker 68, along with Interstate 79 between mile markers 34 and 80. The NWS advises people to turn around rather than drive through flooded roads and to avoid flooded roads when possible. Read the current NWS Flood Warning for updates.
