Lewis County Park fully reopened August 19 after recovering from the severe flooding that struck July 21-22.
Several areas had been covered by thick layers of mud, requiring debris removal, cleaning and repairs before normal public use could resume. The full reopening marked another visible restoration of community space nearly a month into the county's recovery.
Residents should continue to follow posted park notices when work or weather affects individual amenities, but the park as a whole was reported open.
