Fog could make driving difficult during Monday morning’s commute in Lewis County, according to a special weather statement issued by the National Weather Service in Charleston at 2 a.m. October 5.
The weather service said widespread fog had formed in river and mountain valleys across much of West Virginia and far western Virginia. Some patches could be dense enough to reduce visibility to a quarter-mile or less.
Drivers should slow down, use low-beam headlights and leave extra distance between their vehicle and others, the weather service advised.
The fog is expected to last into the morning commute and begin dissipating around 9 a.m. EDT Monday.
