Lewis County competed in an early-season high-school golf match at Alpine Lake Golf Course alongside Preston, Elkins and Tucker County.
The four-team setting gave local players an early benchmark against programs from across north-central and eastern West Virginia. Preston's fourth-place finish was the focus of the host report, but Lewis County's inclusion documented another start to the county's fall sports calendar.
The match came as teams were establishing lineups and competitive form for the 2026 season.
