The National Weather Service’s Charleston office has issued a flood watch for Lewis County through 12 p.m. EDT Monday, Sept. 21, as additional heavy showers and storms move through the area overnight and into Monday morning.

The agency said excessive runoff may flood rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying or flood-prone locations. Areas that received heavy rain earlier Sunday face the greatest risk for additional flash flooding.

Residents should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action if flash flood warnings are issued. Read the National Weather Service alert.
