Lewis County's coordinated flood-recovery system had received 758 requests for help by August 31, according to a new update from the Lewis County Family Resource Network.
The FRN said it began accepting “I need flood relief help” referrals the day after the July flooding. It and the Lewis County Commission have case-managed the requests, aided during the past six weeks by more than two dozen people from seven other counties. Hope Gas provided a work trailer at the Market Place distribution center that now serves as the referral operations center.
The update says 85 referrals are currently in progress. It contains a discrepancy in the number already completed: the written caption says 562 are completed or resolved, while the attached graphic says 582. The portal could not resolve that 20-case difference from the post or its four comments, so it is preserving both figures rather than presenting either as definitive. The difference also means readers should not calculate a remainder from the three numbers until the FRN clarifies them.
People who still need flood-related assistance can use the Lewis County help form. The FRN also links a flood-relief resource guide.
Supply pickup at the Market Place Mall site is scheduled through September 11 on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with appointments also available. The center is at 284 Market Place Mall in Weston, in the former Kroger building to the right of Dollar Tree. Hours after September 11 had not been set in the captured notice.
