A Lewis County flood-recovery list maintained by Agnes Quinn Queen reports that 133 businesses were affected by the July 21 flood. The list, marked as of 8:50 p.m. Sept. 1, says 68 had fully reopened while 65 remained closed or were operating in an altered form. Three businesses in the latter group reported permanent closure.

The list records varied operating conditions. Blues Bar and Grill had reopened with its main bar area closed and service on the second floor. KFC was operating through its drive-thru while dining-area work continued. Walmart had reopened selected departments but had no hot, cold or frozen food available during rebuilding. Some organizations, including Edward Jones and Mountain Momma’s Deals, were working remotely.

The list also gave projected opening estimates for several businesses: one to two months for the downtown Dollar General, two to three months for Domino’s Pizza and Dec. 31 for Family Dollar. Performance Chevrolet, Sesame Inn and Smoker Friendly were listed as permanently closed.

Agnes Quinn Queen said the list will be updated as businesses reopen and asked readers to report missing or changed information. See the full list and source details.
