Lewis County Democrats announced an Oct. 17 rally in Weston and two upcoming meetings in their October Blue News newsletter, shared by the Lewis County Democratic Women's Group on Oct. 8.

Rally and meetings

The “Your Vote, Your Power!” rally is scheduled for noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at the corner of East Third Street and Court Avenue in Weston. Organizers describe it as a gathering to support voting rights and encourage early voting.

The group's monthly meetings are scheduled for Oct. 20 and Nov. 17 at 6 p.m. at Georgetown Community Center, 3208 Old Georgetown Road in Horner. The newsletter also lists a Zoom option; contact the group for connection details.

Weston headquarters and new website

The newsletter says Lewis County Democrats have rented the former South Texas Barbeque location at Second and Center streets in Weston as their election headquarters through the Nov. 3 election. The space is not regularly staffed. Its windows display candidate signs and voter information, and the group stores yard signs and other campaign materials there. Residents seeking materials can contact the group.

The group also announced its website, LewisCountyWVDemocrats.com, with information about candidates, events, volunteering, membership and donations. An online store for hats and T-shirts is planned.

The newsletter asks supporters to donate or volunteer for candidates Rachel Fetty Anderson for U.S. Senate, Ace Parsi for U.S. Congress, Lynette Murray for West Virginia Senate, Jocelyn Blackwell for West Virginia House and Sandra Frame for Lewis County Commission.

It also recounts the group's participation with Anderson, Murray, Blackwell and Frame at the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum's Oct. 3 Fall Festival in Weston.
