A large crowd attended the August 27 Lewis County Community Meeting hosted by Lewis County Mutual Aid at The Coffeehouse in Weston. The meeting brought FEMA representatives together with local flood-recovery organizers, community partners, and residents to discuss long-term recovery after the July 21 flooding.

Commissioner Agnes Quinn Queen said the conversation covered available resources, progress already made, and work that remains. Residents shared information, asked questions, and offered ideas as organizations continue coordinating longer-term assistance.

The meeting’s central message was that recovery will require sustained communication and cooperation among government agencies, volunteer groups, businesses, and residents. Lewis County Mutual Aid continues operating the Marketplace Plaza distribution center, where current local information lists recovery supplies, volunteer coordination, and community assistance.
