An update from Agnes Quinn Queen, labeled as of 8:50 p.m. Sept. 1, reports that 133 Lewis County businesses were affected by the July 21 flood. The list says 68 have fully reopened, while 65 remain closed or are operating in an altered form. Three businesses are reported permanently closed: Performance Chevrolet, Sesame Inn and Smoker Friendly.

The update also records partial reopenings and projected timelines. KFC is operating its drive-thru while dining-area work continues, and Walmart Supercenter has reopened selected departments but has no hot, cold or frozen food available. The post projects a one- to two-month reopening for downtown Dollar General, two to three months for Domino’s Pizza and Dec. 31 for Family Dollar.

Queen says the list will be updated as businesses reopen or need corrections. Read the source update.
