Mountain Taxi, formerly Route 19 Taxi, plans to reopen Monday, October 5, according to the operator’s October 3 announcement shared by Jonet Greene in Lewis County, WV Announcements.

Initial service hours

The business announced an abbreviated Monday-through-Friday schedule of 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the first couple of weeks. Its vehicle needs a minor recall repair; the operator said an appointment notice would be posted the day before and expected the repair, including travel, to take a few hours. An appointment date was not announced.

Weekend drivers sought

The operator is looking for drivers for Saturday and Sunday morning shifts from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and evening shifts from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Applicants must be at least 25 and have a clean driving record. These are shifts the operator hopes to staff; weekend service has not been confirmed.

Interested drivers were told to call the taxi for instructions about submitting information to its insurer. The operator specifically asked applicants not to send private information to the taxi phone.

Correction: An earlier version did not identify Mountain Taxi as the business reopening. Its original announcement names the operator and gives the service hours and driver requirements.
