Jane Lew archer and small-business owner Izzy Yoos has won an International Bowhunting Organization world championship at age 19, earning her first world title since moving into an adult competition class.

The IBO World Championship at Canaan Valley capped a seven-event circuit that also included West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Ohio stops. Competitors shoot across multiple days in divisions based on age, gender and equipment, with the top five in each class advancing to a final round. Distances are not marked, making range judgment part of the competition.

According to WDTV's interview, Yoos was fourth after the opening day, climbed to second on day two after changing some equipment, and put together her winning round on the final day. The result follows about six years of competitive shooting that began after she accompanied her father and younger brother Parker to archery events.

Yoos is also the owner of Little Arrow Archery Shop in Jane Lew. She builds and repairs bows, coaches young archers, and operates the business with help from her family. The shop had been serving customers by appointment for roughly two months and moved to a full week of regular hours during the week of the report. A grand-opening date had not yet been announced.

Balancing the shop with championship training meant fitting practice around work. Yoos told WDTV that she used targets on her family's property and practiced both stamina and distance judgment before the world event. Her next competitive goals are an IBO Shooter of the Year honor and another world title.

The shop is also organizing adult and youth bowhunting contests with preregistration due September 20. Participants should read the shop's current rules before entering, including West Virginia harvest-report and in-person measurement requirements. WDTV's full profile contains the interview and additional competition details.
