Andrew McDonald is asking for help identifying the owner of a dog he reported seeing in the Jane Lew area, according to a post captured in the Lewis County, WV Announcements group.

McDonald said the dog would not come to him and seemed “very weak and limping a little.” Those descriptions are his observations; the post does not establish an injury or medical condition. It also does not say that the dog was secured or give a more precise location within the Jane Lew area.

Anyone who knows whose dog it may be is asked to send McDonald a direct message. His selected Facebook post is the source of this community-sourced notice.

The collector captured the post at 10:44 p.m. EDT on September 29, 2026. The original posting time was not displayed, so that capture time does not establish when McDonald saw the dog. The dog's whereabouts after the report were not provided.
