A chapel built at Jackson's Mill nearly seven decades ago will be rededicated Saturday, September 12, after a two-year renovation.

The West Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church lists a ribbon cutting for the building during its September 11-13 United Methodist Men's retreat at Jackson's Mill. The church conference says United Methodist Men originally built the chapel in 1957 and have led the recent renovation.

Bishop Debra Wallace-Padgett and other guests are expected to participate in the ceremony.

The organizer has not published a start time or clearly stated whether the ribbon cutting is open to people who are not attending the retreat. Anyone planning to go should confirm those details with the West Virginia Conference before traveling. Its main office number is 304-344-8331.

The date has been added to the portal calendar with date-only precision so the calendar does not imply an unannounced hour.
