Birch CEOS has distributed at least 4,221 books through Little Free Library boxes across three counties in a little over five months, the group reported in an October 7 Facebook post.

The group said it also supplied more than 100 puzzles, along with magazines and books on tape. Members did not count donations at the beginning, so the reported book total is a minimum.

Birch CEOS thanked Appalachian Impact, Upshur County Relay for Life, Saffles Goodies in Buckhannon, Philipi Barbour County Schools, its own members, and family, friends and neighbors for helping keep the boxes stocked. The group encouraged people to pick up a book and share reading with children and older adults.
