Mrs Hermit has listed a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with 212,431 miles. She says she wants a smaller vehicle, will negotiate the price and will consider trades. The post does not state an asking price.
The gasoline-powered truck has an automatic transmission, an extended cab with a fold-down bench seat and three doors. The seller says it has a lift installed by a previous owner, oversized mud tires, a larger washable air filter, a lockable gas cap, locking lug nuts, a spare tire, a high-lift jack and a drop-down hitch. She reports that the fuel pump and hoses are new, the radiator was replaced in 2024, and the battery is a couple of years old and still holds a charge. She describes the paint as good and says the truck has no rust. She also says it hauled water on a trailer without trouble.
The listing describes problems prospective buyers should weigh. The air conditioning does not work because of mouse damage to the air system, though the seller says the defroster works. There is no radio or rear-door handle, and opening the hood requires pliers to pull its cable. The seller reports weak or strained four-wheel drive, wide turns, about 11 miles per gallon, an aftermarket alarm and two patches of window tint that have not been removed.
She says the truck needs an oil change and that oil pressure has been too high since the last change; her suggestion that debris may have reached the pump is unconfirmed. More recently, she says, the truck has threatened to stall or died during the first few miles of driving, idled weakly and run at high revolutions per minute while in park.
